Mother Wins Tug-of-War in Court Over Her Boy
[dateline:] Bangor, Maine, May 19
Mother and grandmother had a tug-of-war over a 12-year-old boy in the Police Court this morning with so much fierceness that a policeman was called in to separate them, the mother winning by getting away with the boy.
A hearing had been given in the case of Mrs Margaret Page of Brewer, whose five children had been placed in the custody of their grandmother, Mrs Martha Page of Bangor, for proper keeping. The mother applied for custody and while the matter was being considered, she made a quick rush for the boy. No attempt was made to get the boy back today and the case will be given a further hearing next week.
